Delafield Spring Art Walk and Eye Candy Trunk Show featuring Studio 3 and Daniel Swarovski

Friday night, Delafield hosted the Spring Art Walk, and keeping in style, we opened our doors for a trunk show featuring the artistic creations of two great eyewear lines. Roberto Comelli brought his entire collection of Studio 3—beautiful, hand painted frames from Italy. It was hard to resist the bold designs and unique color combinations that this exclusive line of frames offers. And with his wonderful Italian accent, Roberto charmed men and women alike. In addition, Joyce Ellen Hutchens from Silhouette was here with her luxurious collection of Daniel Swarovski eyewear and sunwear. Each piece is embellished with crystals—truly jewelry for your eyes. It was a beautiful night, Delafield was full of happy “art walkers” and Eye Candy was buzzing with excitement as our many visitors enjoyed a beverage, handmade chocolates and snacks, and shopped for some great new eyewear!

International Vision Expo 2008 – New York City

Eye Candy was closed Friday, April 11 – Sunday, April 13 while Paula and Dena attended International Vision Expo East 2008 in New York City. It was our first time attending this huge trade show but it sure won’t be our last! What an amazing gathering of all of the latest and greatest in frame and lens designs. We came back full of ideas for the shop and orders for exciting new frames and sunglasses. And we are totally stoked to be introducing three new frame/sunglass lines. Watch for updates as these exciting new lines come in.

MARCH 8, 2008

Trunk Show featuring eyewear from Chrome Hearts and Blinde

Dena and Paula both have a birthday in March so what a great reason for a party! To celebrate with us, what could be better than the incredible eyeglasses and sunglasses from Chrome Hearts and Blinde . Tim and Mo Webb brought their entire collection of this hot, cutting-edge eyewear line that is adored by celebrities – and the rest of us that wish we were! The crowd that came out loved the gothic styling's, carved mahogany temples, sterling silver accents and unique design features that can only be seen with Chrome Hearts. A great opportunity for our customers to have such an awesome selection! The event was a blast, and shop was even tricked out in all things green for St. Pat’s—even the snacks were green!

DECEMBER 1, 2007

The Grand Opening of Eye Candy!

What an exciting day! At 10 am Paula unlocked the doors to her dream come true—Eye Candy, Unique Eyewear and Sunwear for Sun and Sports! The shop was filled with happy well-wishers, flowers—and shoppers. Our first trunk show featured 3 special frame lines. Marliss Ganellen, frame designer and representative for her company, Eye Think was here with her fun and funky frames. How cool to be able to be styled by the designer herself! Joining her was Matt Phillips with Kio Yamato. These awesome frames and sunglasses are designed and made in Japan and feature beautiful acetates and titanium's in unique, wearable designs. Rounding out the trio was Don Shouse with TAG Heuer and Fred. TAG Heuer bills itself as “sports vision” but most people find the frames and sunglasses are too cool to wear just for sports. The comfortable fit and classic colors made TAG a popular choice for our visitors. And the exquisite Fred line is simply eyewear as jewelry—gorgeous! But the snow that started falling in the morning got heavier and heavier as Delafield got hit with an 8 inch blizzard. What a memorable start!
